so i fell in love with the diner dash game when i got my nintendo ds and had become a dasher addict. you can ask anyone at the party where someone had handed me their ds to try (and i never looked back…i did eventually get my own ds of course). i believe at the end of the party, they had asked questions such as, “murd, when you played that game for 5 hours straight, did you actually breathe?”
when i had finally finished the game (on my own ds…i figured that would be the better solution to pocketing the borrowed ds or sleeping over at their house until i was done), i needed more. so i downloaded the ONLY other dasher-type game for the ds…cake mania. i have been pacing myself in hopes that the more time i spend away from it, the more satisfying it will be once i get back to creating cakes and waiting on people. i know that sounds silly. but believe me, once you start…you won’t be able to stop! even if you’ve worked in any of the mentioned industries. the satisfying feeling of…menu, heart-shaped cake, red icing, another heart-shaped cake, another topping of red icing, granny topper, packaging it, giving it to the customer, and taking the money that is left behind. making enough cash to upgrade my oven to pop out cakes in a matter of seconds or even better yet, getting a tv to keep the customers happy???
all you closet diner dasher know what i am talking about…don’t even try to hide it!
so to keep this feeling up (and wishing to finally complete cake mania), a fellow ds gamer told me there was a new game that involved babysitting. now, i just spent 36 hours taking care of two kids (a 9 month-old and an almost 3 year old) with my cousin. i thought, what am i nuts? playing a game that requires me to virtually do what i just did? hell yah! if it gives me the satisfying feeling of accomplishment and using the money buy an even better daycare? “why not?” i say!!!
needless to say, they didn’t have that game for the ds…yet. so i looked online to see what else was available to my ds and i discovered a world for fellow addicted dashers like me! Unfortunately, the games are only available for my iMAC, which means i’ll have to spend countless hours in front of my amazingly beautiful iMAC screen trying to save my grandma’s diner so that i can be the hometown hero!!! …er… i mean helping Flo save her grandma’s diner so she can be the hometown hero.
good bye books…hello dasher-world!!!!
